Hey! Over this weekend I hit 100 followers!!! Honestly thank you so much to every one of you that has hit ‘Follow’, you have no idea how much it means to me ❤

I started this blog in April 2015 – so quite a long time ago now. However, I never really uploaded a post and I didn’t know what I was doing with it. I posted on and off for the rest of 2015 but I really fell in love with blogging at the start of 2016. I have posted every day of my February half term and have now decided a regular upload schedule. From next week I will be posting:

  • Wednesday’s at 19:00 (7pm)
  • Saturday’s at 10:00am

I hope this means I can post regularly and continue to progress with my blog!

Thank you again for the 100 followers, your likes and lovely comments make me so happy. It is really appreciated 🙂

As always, thank you so much for reading ❤

I’ll be back with another post on Wednesday!

The Miranda Sings Award

Hey! During this week I was nominated to do ‘The Miranda Sings Award’ So here it is!

Firstly, thank you thoughtfultash for nominating me for this award! For this award, you must list 7 things you love about yourself and list 10 bloggers (or as many as you can think of) to do this award.

If I’m being honest, I have found this post really hard to do as I struggle to think positively about myself but I gave it a go!

The seven things I love about myself are: ❤

  4. I give the best advice that I can, to anyone in need.
  5. I love that one of my hobbies is photography.

Baking Cookies!

Hey! Today I thought I would show you the cookies I baked a few days ago. I used Tanya Burr’s (YouTuber & Blogger) recipe and it’s so good. Every time I have baked them, they have turned out really well. I have listed the ingredients and method below 🙂

  • 200g Butter
  • 300g Caster Sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 325g self-raising flour
  • A dash of milk (optional)
  • 200g white chocolate
  • 200g milk chocolate

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 200C.
  2. Whisk the butter and sugar together until it’s pale and creamy.
  3. Crack in the egg and mix through.
  4. Gradually add the flour, a bit at a time, until it is all mixed in.
  5. The mixture should then come together and look like dough, if it looks too dry add a dash of milk. If it is too sticky add some more flour.
  6. Wash your hands then break up the chocolate into chunks.
  7. Shape the mixture into small balls and add a few chunks to each of them.
  8. Place them onto a baking tray covered in greaseproof paper.
  9. Bake them for 10-12 minutes and no longer! You want them to be hard on the outside and slightly gooey in the middle!
  10. Leave them to cool on a cooling rack for around 20 minutes, then enjoy!

They taste amazing and are perfect with a lovely cup of tea on a cold afternoon ❤

Thank you so much for reading!

Reasons To Stay Alive – Book Review

Hey! In today’s post I’m going to talk about the book ‘Reasons to Stay Alive’ by Matt Haig. I read this book in three days and it is honestly amazing. It is a true story of Matt Haig’s experiences with depression and anxiety. His book seeks to give people hope and lessen the stigma of mental health. On the front cover Joanna Lumely writes ‘A small masterpiece that might even save lives’ and Stephen Fry says ‘Matt Haig is astounding’.

As a sufferer with mental illness, this book brings me comfort and hope for the future. It is relatable and very truthful. Matt Haig suggests that most people still have little idea how to act around those suffering from mental illness. So this is therefore really important.

An extract from his book – ‘The weirdest thing about a mind is that you can have the most intense things going on in there but no one else can see them’.

I don’t want to give away too much incase you want to read it yourself, but here is a few of his ‘How to Live’ Advice:

  1. Appreciate happiness when it is there.
  2. Live, Love, Let go. The three L’s.
  3. Be brave. Be strong. Breathe and keep going. You will thank yourself later.

Some of my favourite extracts from the book:

  • ‘The tunnel does have light at the end of it, even if we aren’t able to see it’.
  • ‘Pain is a debt paid off with time’.
  • ‘Sometimes on the rocky, windy path of recovery, what feels like a failure can be a step forward’.

I would like to thank Matt Haig for writing such an inspiring and honest book. I would rate it a 10/10 because it is so reassuring, moving, important and valuable. An absolute must-read.

Thank you so much for reading!
