What I Got For My 18th Birthday

Hey! Happy Relaunch Day! It’s been a busy and emotional couple of months for me since my last blog post, but more on that another time. For now I thought I would show you what I received from my family and friends for my 18th birthday (a couple of weeks ago). I had the most amazing weekend and I honestly felt so lucky.

From my Mum and her partner I had so many lovely presents. My favourites being a Kurt Geiger Handbag with a matching purse, Ted Baker sunglasses, a beautiful Pandora ring and earrings, a Pandora charm and an ’18’ in a photo frame that is personalised with everything I love! My mum also made me a ‘Scrapbook of My Life So Far’ photo book which is so sentimental ❤

Then from my Dad and his partner I received a box filled with things that I love and this included a Pandora necklace which matched the earrings my Mum got for me. How lucky am I! From other family members and friends I received lots of money and gift vouchers – a shopping spree is DEFINITELY on the cards!

One of my friends bought me the Urban Decay Smoky NAKED palette, and it is absolutely gorgeous! She definitely knows what eyeshadow shades I love. The pigment is incredible and there is no fall out!

I received so many other lovely gifts, from bath bombs, to cute notebooks, to jewellery, to chocolates and alcohol! I am so grateful for all of my presents and for everyone who made my birthday weekend so special.

When is your birthday? What are you hoping for?

Get To Know Me!

Hey! In today’s post, I thought I would let you into my life a little bit more and you can ‘get to know me’ better. Some of the questions were chosen by you and others I created myself. Hope you enjoy ❤

Where is your favourite place to escape to? The beach. I love everything about it, from the sound of the waves to collecting beautiful shells.

When you were younger what did you think you were going to be when you grew up? When I was little I always wanted to be a teacher or a police officer! Now I want to work in a nursery with children and I’m doing a childcare course in sixth form!

Do you easily accept compliments? Or do you hate compliments? Don’t get me wrong, I love the occasional compliment, but I don’t take them ‘easily’. I will awkwardly smile, say thank you, act shy and more often that not, I won’t believe a word. I struggle with my confidence, but I’m always appreciative of compliments.

What is your biggest fear? Dying without living my life to my full potential.

If you had one day left to live, what would you do first? I would get all of my family and friends together and have a meal out with them. I’d have to spend this final day with all of my favourite people.

Do you believe in love at first sight? No, well… I don’t think so. I think true love develops with the right person over time.

Are you a dog or cat person? A cat person. I have two cats, a Maine Coon and a Ragdoll and they are both gorgeous.

What makes you cry? Family or friend fall outs, sad songs, depressing films, seeing other people upset and anxiety.

What date did you start your blog? I started my blog on the 4th of April 2015. Wow, time goes fast!

What is your favourite food and drink? Food – Chocolate. Drink – Fanta.

Are you single or taken? Single.

What is your favourite perfume? Lady Million by Paco Rabanne. It’s a beautiful scent for all year round.

PC or Mac? Mac all the way!

What is your favourite restaurant? I love Italian restaurants, like Prezzo and ASK.

How many countries have you visited? Four. I have been to Spain, France, Germany and Malta. I’ve had some amazing holidays in these countries!

Hopefully you now know a little more about me! Feel free to ask more questions in the comments. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend!

Weekend Away in Exmouth 2017

Hey! During the Easter Weekend I went to Sandy Bay in Exmouth with some of my family. I love going away for short breaks like this and everyday we did something different!

Friday – We arrived in the afternoon and went for a walk. Then we went to Starbucks before checking in and unpacking everything. In the evening we watched the entertainment, played bingo and had Papa John’s!

Saturday – Lazy morning’s are the BEST. We all had a lie in and ate breakfast together. Then we went to Exmouth and walked along the beach. We looked at the Lifeboat and I took lots of pictures on my camera! Late night chats with tea and biscuits was also lovely.

Sunday – We went for an early breakfast at McDonald’s, yummy! Then we travelled to Beer and The Donkey Sanctuary. In the afternoon, I completed a climbing adventure with zip wires which was so much fun! Later, we played bingo and earned nearly 2,000 tokens in the arcade. You’re never too old for the 2p machines 😉

Monday – We packed up to come home, but went shopping on the way back. I bought lots of stationery and craft things, so look out for that haul soon 😉 We went to McDonalds for lunch and then finally arrived home after hours of motorway traffic!

It was a lovely few days away, but now it’s all back to the normality of work, sixth form and deadlines!

It’s Been A While…

Hey! As you can tell from the title of this post it really has been a while since I uploaded. In fact I have not blogged since the New Year. I have still been active on Twitter and I have read so many new and exciting blogs too!

There isn’t really a reason for my absence but I just decided to take a break and focus on other goals in my life. I felt unmotivated and uninspired but now I’m back with new post ideas and a happier outlook!

If you’re still here and following then thank you for sticking by me, and if you’re new… HEY! I’m Abbie and welcome to my blog!

Let’s start a fresh. I’m back.

Reflecting on 2016!

Hey! Happy New Year to you all 🙂 I hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas and New Year! How did you spend your New Year’s Eve? I went out to a disco thing with my family and friends! Now, before I write a post all about my goals for 2017, I thought it would be a good idea to reflect on the many ups and downs of my 2016.

So the beginning of my 2016 started off with a lot of worry and uncertainty. I was very unhappy within myself and with pretty much every aspect of my life. Despite this, in January 2016 I completed a Mental Health First Aid Course, which was a brilliant opportunity and my training has definitely come in handy! I was also discharged from CAMHS in January, something I am extremely proud of.

In February, my best friend became really unwell with anorexia. It was absolutely heartbreaking watching her get worse every single day, but after so much sadness, pain and unhappiness, professionals helped her and in March she went into an inpatient hospital. This was so hard for me. I missed her so much for the six months she was there. I visited her when I could and we had fun, but it was quite far away! At times she tried desperately to push me away, but now nine months after, our friendship is still close and the happiest it’s ever been. I’m so proud of her and of course, love her lots! That hospital saved her life and she is recovering well after being discharged 🙂

At the end of March, I attended the NCS YES Live Concert! Myself and a friend had completed NCS the previous September and were graduates. We won some tickets and saw amazing acts perform, including Jess Glynne, Tinie Tempah, Craig David and BLONDE. It was an amazing day out!

At the start of April I applied for my first part-time job! I was called in for an interview and later offered the job! I started and began training in the beginning of May and now I love it! (well most of the time) I am a Children’s Party Host and the job has helped me in more ways than just providing me with money. It has increased my self-confidence and I have made a lot more friends. Woooo go me!

In June, I went t0 my Grandparents caravan with family and enjoyed the peacefulness of walking on the beach and collecting pebbles 🙂 It’s the simple things!

JULY – My birthday month! I had the nicest birthday, I had all my family round for a BBQ. We played games in the garden, threw water bombs and ate soooo much food! I also went out with my friend to the cinema to see Finding Dory and I went on a massive shopping spree with my birthday money!

In August, I went to Menorca with my family! This was my first holiday abroad in four years and I was terrified! But I faced a lot of fears there and had such a good holiday. Even if I did get extremely sun burnt! :/

At the start of September I started sixth form…again. I absolutely hated the courses I had chosen and I was in a pretty bad place when I started in 2015. So after meetings at school I decided to re-do the year and I chose to do a Level 3 Childcare course. Although, it is a lot of work and stressful, I love it! I’m so glad I decided to change, and I love working in my current placement. I have made some fab friends in my class too!

In October I went to my first hen party, met up with a life long friend and stayed at my dad’s new house for the first time. These things I would not have done in 2015, so I know I have challenged myself this year!

I went to a music concert with my Dad in November and spent a lot of time doing school work and working as a party host! For some reason, it was a very busy month, but I did enjoy firework night and my Great Auntie’s birthday party! In December, I spent a lot of time with my family and friends. I went on a night out with my work friends and my placement work colleagues which was amazing. We also got a hot tub and have spent many evenings relaxing outside. On the 8th of December I met Zoe Sugg (Zoella), Alfie Deyes (PointlessBlog), Sean Elliott and Poppy Deyes! THE BEST DAY EVER. They were the nicest people and I feel so so lucky to have finally met them!

Then of course, I had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I ate way too much food, received gorgeous presents and my mum and her partner got engaged! Wooo congrats Mum ❤

So that was my 2016! It’s had it’s bad times and its amazing times and on reflection I have realised that I have changed a lot this year. I am growing up and I’m starting to find myself 🙂

Firework Night

Hey! I’m so excited because this is my favourite time of year and I have so many blog post ideas! Bonfire night has already been and gone and next it’s Christmas…AHHHH!

The 5th of November (Guy Fawkes Night) is the date I know Autumn is here and Christmas is on it’s way! This year, I worked all day and then went to a family friends in the evening with my Mum and her partner. There was 13 of us all together and I adore this bunch of people. We had all brought fireworks, food, drink and sparklers and had the most lovely night.

Sorry for the awful photo, but we let off lots of fireworks in their back garden and we all huddled around their firepit. I don’t care how old I am, I love sparklers, fireworks and toasting marshmallows on the fire. Pure bliss 😀

I also spent time with the younger ones playing games and watching films. I love them all and we always have such a laugh. What a lovely Firework Night! Spend time with people who bring out the best in you ❤

Thank you so much for reading❤

Carving My Pumpkin

Hey! Cheesy Halloween joke coming up! You’ve been warned 😉

Q. Why did the ghost go into the bar?  – A. For the Boos

For this Halloween evening I thought I would post about my pumpkin! I carved it a few days ago and didn’t want to go for anything too complicated! I’ve seen some amazing designs, but I am not that creative!

My pumpkin was £1 from ASDA and all I used was a knife, a spoon and a pen to complete my pumpkin. I actually sat carving this in front of the TV whilst watching a Christmas film!

Then, I drew the design for the top, cut it out and got all of the pumpkin seeds out! Then I drew the rest of the design and carefully cut all the pieces out.

It turned out better than I expected! It looked very cute by the fireplace with the cob webs and spiders! Here’s my finished pumpkin 🙂

Thank you so much for reading ❤

Did you carve a pumpkin this year?
