My July Favourites

Hey! It’s the 31st of July and this means that it’s the perfect time to show you my July Favourites! Now most of the things are random but I’ll start with my three beauty (ish) favourites! 🙂

1. Garnier Softening Cleansing Lotion

I have been loving this cleansing lotion because it takes my makeup off perfectly and it doesn’t affect my sensitive skin. It has lasted me the whole of July and for £3.29 it’s very good value.

2. Zoella Sweet Inspirations Body Mist

I received Zoe’s new Body Mist for my birthday and the new ‘Sweet Inspirations’ range smells incredible! I love having a little spritz of this during the day to freshen up. I have used this every day since my birthday!

3. Cloud Washi Tape

I purchased this cloud and heart washi tape from Paperchase and its so beautiful. I have loved using it in my journal throughout July.

4. Primark Rose Gold Vanilla Candle

I know its summer and a lot of people only light candles in Autumn/Winter but this Primark candle had been sitting on my chest of drawers for ages and I decided to light it. It smells so strong and has melted evenly. I also just love the rose gold colour!

5. Beautiful Broken Things – By Sara Barnard

This book is AMAZING! It is in Zoella’s book club and it has such a heart-warming, honest and emotional plot and it really explains the importance of true friendship! I couldn’t put it down and I strongly recommend it! An absolute MUST-READ.

6. Finding Dory

I watched Finding Dory in the cinema yesterday with my best friend and we enjoyed it so much! It was so cute, funny and a great sequel to Finding Nemo. I loved it, please go and see it at your local cinema!

That’s all my July Favourites!!!

Thank you so much for reading! ❤

Easter Holidays Shopping Haul

Hey! It’s nearing the end of my school Easter Holidays 😦 But… I have a few days left and I have done lots of shopping this holiday! So I thought I would show you some of the things I have bought and chat away 🙂

The first two shops I went into was Hollister and Primark. Now, whenever I go into Hollister I either find absolutely nothing or my arms are nearly falling off from all the things I pick up. It’s one way or the other! This time it was an arm aching day and I tried on about 10 things! However, I also do that thing where I pick up lots that I like and only end up getting and liking one thing! So, in Hollister I got a checkered shirt and it was in the sale down to £20.30!

In Primark I then picked up some navy high waisted skinny jeans, a white vest top and a scarf and that came to £18.80!

Next stop was Boots, and that is always a bad idea because once I start looking at the makeup, I’m in there a long time! I start looking at one brand, then feel guilty for the other next to it and find myself looking at every shelf. Oooops! I restrained myself a lot though and I only picked up a Collection lasting colour lipstick in the shade ‘Delicious Candy’. It was £2.99 and it is really lovely!

Then I went to LUSH and the smell in there just makes you want it all! I picked up 3 bath bombs which were Butterball, Think Pink and the Ickle Baby Bot. I love these three scents so much!

Lastly, on the way home I went to Tesco and I picked up Alfie Deyes’ (PointlessBlog) new book ‘The Scrapbook Of My Life’. I’m really looking forward to reading this 🙂

That’s everything I got! I had such a fun day shopping with my mum and I love the things I bought ❤

When I go back to school I will be returning to a blog schedule of uploading on:

Wednesday’s at 17:00 (5pm) & Saturday’s at 11:00am

Thank you so much for reading!❤

Have you bought anything during your holidays?

Reasons To Stay Alive – Book Review

Hey! In today’s post I’m going to talk about the book ‘Reasons to Stay Alive’ by Matt Haig. I read this book in three days and it is honestly amazing. It is a true story of Matt Haig’s experiences with depression and anxiety. His book seeks to give people hope and lessen the stigma of mental health. On the front cover Joanna Lumely writes ‘A small masterpiece that might even save lives’ and Stephen Fry says ‘Matt Haig is astounding’.

As a sufferer with mental illness, this book brings me comfort and hope for the future. It is relatable and very truthful. Matt Haig suggests that most people still have little idea how to act around those suffering from mental illness. So this is therefore really important.

An extract from his book – ‘The weirdest thing about a mind is that you can have the most intense things going on in there but no one else can see them’.

I don’t want to give away too much incase you want to read it yourself, but here is a few of his ‘How to Live’ Advice:

  1. Appreciate happiness when it is there.
  2. Live, Love, Let go. The three L’s.
  3. Be brave. Be strong. Breathe and keep going. You will thank yourself later.

Some of my favourite extracts from the book:

  • ‘The tunnel does have light at the end of it, even if we aren’t able to see it’.
  • ‘Pain is a debt paid off with time’.
  • ‘Sometimes on the rocky, windy path of recovery, what feels like a failure can be a step forward’.

I would like to thank Matt Haig for writing such an inspiring and honest book. I would rate it a 10/10 because it is so reassuring, moving, important and valuable. An absolute must-read.

Thank you so much for reading!
